when i say past, i'm not talking about two years ago chuck. and I dunno where you got caddies from what I said. The caddies was just to saw which cars get the worst depreciation http://autos.aol.com/article/truck/_a/edmu...716165309990001 This is the oldest hold their values has two rankings. The hot new car ranking and the older 98 to 02 tried and true. http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2003/01/06/152293.html This has been the trend since the early 90's. Before that I do not know, but the main Japanese Car guys (Toyota, Lexus, Honda) vehicles hold well and the Toyota Suv's. American cars tend to crap in value, even though they are getting better made now. The prius is a hot car now, if gas keeps up it will just stay hot. If say there is a drop in gas to under 3 bucks a gallon, I see a big demand for new trucks and Suv's, since not many are being made and lots of hybrids on lots. -------------------- Southern Rock, beer and bears!

I can't disagree that American cars don't hold value very well. But I don't think a vehicle need make the "top 10" list to be said to hold good resale value.

They will last a very long time if taken care of properly. Therin lies the problem. People don't take care of their vehicles. Foreign cars tend to be built with the assumption that their owners will not take care of them. And yeah, everybody thinks their damn 67 chevelle is worth $15,000, even if it has no motor and is a rustbucket. It's stupid, and frustrating when you're looking for a project car. |

well of course... when people are willing to pay as much for a car that's half the size of a truck at the same price, that's a pretty easy business decision.

I've read the same, but I think that foreign trucks (Nissan Titan, Toyota Tacoma and Tundra) are holding their value because of the suprisingly good gas mileage, sleek look, and reliability. To be honest with you, it's mostly SUVs that are taking the hit right now. Small trucks too. Full size trucks, though, not so much because people still have a necessity for them (businesses, etc). Foreign trucks ______DO NOT______ get better gas miledge than domestics, especially not the GM trucks. Some foreign makes might get better miledge than the Ford or (go figure) the Dodge trucks, but the GM trucks have the best power-to-fuel-economy in the business. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
