Dang that's a lot of working out. I work out 3x a week, typically MWSa, but that's been getting shifted around a lot lately. 30 min cardio, currently on an arc trainer, followed by one of my strength-training workouts. Workout A is 5x5 squats, bench press, barbell rows. Workout B is 5x5 squats, overhead press, 1x5 deadlifts. I'm up to: Squats: 100 Bench: 60 (LAME) Rows: 45 (just added these, so starting low) Overhead: 45 (double LAME) Deadlifts: 130 I'm disappointed with my press performance. Why would you want to lift more weight than that? -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I took a whole week off from the gym this week.
My workout schedule has been fucked for the last 2 months. But what's weird is ... I have gotten _NOWHERE_ on bench press for over a year. I still can't bench for shit. I can't do squats anymore because of my knees being fucked up, but my legs just keep getting stronger regardless .... I can put 1080-lbs (12 plates on each side) on the loaded squat press machine right now, and do 900-lbs on the incline leg press (10 plates on each side) ... Yet when I try to go over 275 on squats my knees hurt so bad I can't even do it? I need to get over this weight lifting crap and cut 20 pounds ... like cut down to about 235-ish and maintain that weight, and get some abs, a penis enlargement, and then walk around telling chicks to have sex with me because now I look like an actor or something ... i hate being a fat fuck -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

Why would you want to lift more weight than that? Why wouldn't I? My short term goals are: Squat - 130 Bench - 100 Overhead - 65 Deadlift - 160 Rows - Not sure, maybe 100? Surgery and being sick from other crap sidelined my weight training, but I am up to 145 on deadlifts. Woot. This post has been edited by Spectatrix: Apr 10 2009, 11:01 AM -------------------- |

On the suggestion of one of the trainers at our gym, the husband and I are trying out 10x10 German Volume Training. From my research, it's either love it or hate it, but is decent at increasing strength and killer at cutting weight. It's not a "bulking up" routine, which is probably the reason for some of the criticism it gets.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/luis13.htm We're doing just the primary exercises this week, to get a feel for starting weights and get used to the routine. Followed by 30 min cardio. Next week we'll add in the secondary 3x10 exercises. -------------------- |
