high schools have to teach at the level of the lowest common denominator which sucks ass for the smart (and average/normal) kids

As much as I'd like to agree with you, you're making a horribly sweeping generalization. I'm sure many kids drop out of HS because they have a family situation such that they need to work full-time. And no, I'm not just talking about the kids who knock up their girlfriends.

I don't know a single highschool dropout - and let me clarify I know quite a few - that dropped out to work a full time job. They dropped out and sat on their asses smoking dope all day while working part time at a bingo hall, etc ... You're right, I'm making a sweeping generalization. It's also a well-deserved sweeping generalization. Seriously, I don't give a fuck what your home situation is, unless your parents are violently molesting you to the point you're a full blown schitzophrenic, I don't feel sorry for you at all for not graduating highschool. I mean I can understand extreme situatoins, but those are fewer and farther in between. %90 of the people who drop out are just too god damned stupid to make themselves get up and show up to class, they'd rather sit around smoking dope and dealing drugs.

i agree. it's sad to say, i have alot of friends who have done that exact same thing.

but, now that it's several years later, only a few of them have gotten fed up with themselves, but there ARE a few who have decided to grow up. but now it's a little late.
