my sister and i were discussing fishing and roadkill one evening and poking dead animals with sticks. the fishing tied in when one of us mentioned poking a fish with a stick. and poke the fish was hilarious to us. i think we were the ones that actually created a sexual context to the phrase without even knowing it

I got mine because me and my old roommate used to get wasted and he just started calling me J Rock because my name is Jason and I think it's one of the guys from Boyz n the Hood or something and it stuck.
