Alright folks May 9th the city of Lubbock will vote on whether or not this conservative chiristian dust bowl will finally become wet. If you still reside in Lubbock and are registered to vote I suggest you vote for proposition 1 and 2 on Saturday. I early voted last week. I hope to god this passes and if it doesn't then I will finally and completely lose all respect and hope for this city and the people that live in it.

Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

Don't worry, in another 100 years we will all be Muslim and can only drink in Dubai, cause Allah doesn't look there.

People are fleeing that place like rats jumping off a sinking ship. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

![]() It amazes me how you can take unrelated "hot button issues" and correlate them with making a county wet. This is typical christian conservative politics! OH NO SAVE THE CHILDREN!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! *slams head into wall* This post has been edited by The Fanatic: May 9 2009, 12:52 AM -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. Hah, that ad KILLS me.
I think it's just funny -- that stuff could STILL happen with or without Lubbock going wet! It's funny too because the anti-proponents want to "keep Lubbock beautiful" implying that all other wet towns in the United States (so yeah, pretty much every city) is an ugly monstrosity devoid of morals. This thing better pass... -------------------- ![]() |

yep now all that has to happen is for TABC to start licensing stores that want to sell booze which is about a month long process. Also not everywhere in Lubbock will be able to sell alcohol because the city council passed an ordinance that you get sell it within a certain distance o churches and schools.
And for those that love the strip it will sill exist. This election was just for beer/wine in the city limit. Liquor will still be a strip only thing. |

So I wonder how long until they vote on liquor. It seems that the strip conglomerate made a tiny concession in order to keep their business. Good news all around. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |
