to sum this up. i am describing to you a stereotype. you are responding by saying, nu uh. not everyone in texas is like that. well no shit. Ok so you're proving your own dumb opinion wrong. You don't hate Texas. You only hate certain people in Texas. Just like any other state, there will be nice people, there will be assholes. So your little personal vendetta against Texas as an entire state is bullshit. |

I have some now very good friends who just moved here from NYC & New Jersey about six months ago, and they have been amazed at how nice people are and the general hospitality they receive. People opening doors for them and saying hello to complete strangers. They said back in NYC these kinds of things were unheard of, that people would feel like you were wasting their time by talking to them.

So your little personal vendetta against Texas as an entire state is bullshit. jesus christ you analyze every detail. when i say i hate texas it's a blanket statement. texas includes these people. in my opinion they are in larger quantity than in other states. there are also other things that i am not particularly fond of. do i need to break down texas into everything it encompasses describing in list format things that i hate and don't hate? then we can do a weighted average and determine on a 1-10 scale if indeed i do really hate texas? perhaps hate is a strong word. would it make you more happy if i said that there are several other states that i would prefer to live in? is my choice of vernacular too harsh? I have some now very good friends who just moved here from NYC & New Jersey about six months ago, and they have been amazed at how nice people are and the general hospitality they receive. Dude all I was saying is your reasons for hating Texas were pretty weak, and are things that occur everywhere.

They wake up the next day and they're on fire."

i agree. every state has it's problems. just the things that i consider problems are in vast quantity in texas and lesser quantity in other places. and they were obviously big enough to me to warranty a move. problem solved.

I thought this was a pretty interesting read:
What if Texas Decided to Split Up Into Five States Also, the blog that is from (fivethirtyeight.com) was awesome during the Presidential Elections. His algorithm to combine polling data predicted the results to incredible accuracy, and he seems to be spot on with his analysis. -------------------- ![]() |
