Seriously, why can't they do their fucking job? Not to get in to too many details, and only one of my complaints directly involves me, but every time someone calls the cops to let them know of wrongdoing, they don't do anything. Every time someone's car gets vandalized and they have absolute proof as to who did it, they don't do anything. Every time they find new evidence in a case and they're supposed to notify the victim, they don't do anything.

I understand there is probably an understaffing issue with law enforcement, but it seems all they give a shit about is meeting their monthly quota and nothing else.

I was intentionally vague because if I gave specific examples of what I'm talking about, some dipshit will accuse me of bragging about my life or something stupid.

I'm not talking about traffic cops. I'm talking about detectives whose sole job is to do exactly what they aren't doing.

Are you in Williamson County hell like I am? Or are you on the other side of the county line? Williamson County cops are fucking dicks. They set up a speed trap in my neighborhood a couple of weeks ago, pulled over about half the people driving by (myself included). Yeah, so sorry I was going 35 on a wide-ass road with no kids about.

I live in wilco but I know most of them and they're cool with me. It helps that on several occasions I've helped them out with putting away drug dealers.

I don't mind speed traps. Then again I don't really speed in the city. The only one that pisses me off is Anderson Mill where it drops from 40 to 35. You have about 12 feet to cut down your speed or else the dipshit motorcycle cop will pull you over. They never bother with the people going over 60 in the 40 mph zone, but if you're a few miles an hour over where it drops to 35, you're getting a ticket.

It is a general rant.

One example which happened a few years ago is when my mom found a plastic bag full of heroin needles, syringes, and burnt spoons in the parking lot of her office. She didn't know what they until I told her and she flipped out and called the cops. Finding a bag full of drug contraband which could have AIDS infected needles seems like a pretty big deal, no? It took the police about three hours to show up, and when they did all they did was tell her to get some gloves and throw them in the dumpster. Then they left.

Or an example that a lot of you probably know about, when those ghetto hoodrats were running around Raider's Pass several years ago selling drugs, vandalizing cars, and sexually assaulting girls. They lived at a house on 2nd (I think) where their parents were running a meth ring. The cops knew all about it (I know this for a fact) and flat out refused to do anything.

It's 25 on Dallas, but higher on nearby, narrower, more curvy streets. It's retarded. Looks like the signs used to say 35; not sure when they changed 'em.

I know what you mean. I think they have become more of the power hungry ticket givers than protectors of the law.

the police are under strict orders from the FBI in lubbock, have been for over 10 years. alot of drug trafficking comes through lubbock and head to other places in the usa. they have a "tag and release" policy. they let the drugs travel and their watching them, they uncover the new buyers, etc, and nail everyone involved. it's slow, i think it's ineffective, but they do it anyway. FBI is more worried about making a name for themselves in a "big bust" than actual crime prevention by shutting down the life-lines of drugs they monitor

Cops/law enforcement are people.

People are, on average, lazy, think primarily of themselves, and typically take the easy way out.

I don't see why we expect law enforcement to behave any differently than CEOs or everybody else.

Cops are dicks, just like everybody else.
