How about a gourmet food basket from Hickory Farms....

Hershey also sells gift baskets... kinda a step up from a box of chocolates.

Both are sold on their Web site

Also, there is that Edible Arrangements. They have a site too.

when you first see them

look into their eyes

give a face of joy and excitement

ask them if they're excited that they're going to be grandparents

if they're jaws drop, laugh it off and say "just kidding, i got it aborted last week"

those are memories they will never forget

Only if you are positive that they drink. If my parents got a bottle of wine, they would be super offended.

Their Catholic right?

Hmm, I need something a little less personal. They're "country folks" (not exactly, I'm not sure how to describe them), I'm not sure if wine from where I'm from is too uppity. I think they'd appreciate something a little bit more "down home".

Cookies.

If you want to go the food route, I'd recommend giving them something you've made yourself, e.g. cookies or banana nut bread.

I got some chocolate from a local chocolate shop and a couple of dog treats.

Anything else I should know about meeting the rents? I kinda figured it's no different than meet anyone else, but it still feels awkward to be in a house full of people who all know each other.

Probably a lot of questions on me being chinese, I'm not sure if I want to do that. I don't particularly want to be viewed as chinese, but more of as a person, if you know what I mean. I'm not sure if anyone on this board would have experiences with that.

Gong Xi Fa Cai. Talk about being American if they ask about it, since you are. They might just be curious about or something. On that subject, do your parents know you're dating a non-Chinese guy?

Thank, happy niu year (tongue.gif) Yeah, they do, they've met him over christmas. I'm just worried that this meeting will be really weird, we're sorta the black sheep of the family.
