Funny how Tech goes 11-1 (tyed for best record in big 12) and we won't get a shot at the big 12 championship, bcs game, or NC game. Best Tech team we've had and OU and UT both have great years... this sucks. This is like watching the mavs lose to heat in finals after being up 2-0... grr

It's a given that a Big 12 South team will play for the BCS championship against Florida (Bama isn't winning, sorry). If Oklahoma State beats OU, guess who goes to the Big 12 title game? Tech, because they'll be tied atop the South with UT and they'll hold the tiebreaker by beating the Horns head to head -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

But thats not going to happen... OSU has one of their best teams in 20 years and is playing at home. It is possible. But this could lead to an even bigger mess. Let's say hypothetically that OSU beats OU, Texas beats aggy, and TTU beats Baylor. TTU then goes to the championship game and beats Missouri. Texas then ends up going to the national championship which means the second ranked team in the Big 12 would play this game! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by The Fanatic: Nov 23 2008, 11:25 PM -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. OU will give OSU a pounding. If we can get our confidence back for the Baylor then we might deserve a chance, but if we can't pull ourselves together after a tough loss then what's the point.
TTU should be running drills nonstop this entire week and they should play to destroy Baylor, people will complain about racking up points on a team, but if OSU does win, we are going to need all the confidence we can get. (and if we can't put up points against Baylor then we pretty much suck) -------------------- FUCK YOU

So if we don't go to a BCS bowl (which I will be pissed off about going 11-1 in the Big 12 South) which one would we most likely go to (assuming OU beats OSU, UT beats A&M)? Cotton Bowl?
It sucks that we get screwed because we lost late in the season. I keep thinking about the USC bullshit-- so they beat then #5 Ohio St and two 20-ish ranked teams and then loses to an unranked Oregon St, yet they are ahead of us who beat a #1, a #7 and then lose (albeit horribly) to a #5....so dumb. Yet they are ahead of us big time. I wish sportswriters would get off of USCs nutz all the time. -------------------- ![]() |

If OU beats OSU and tech beats baylor we are going to the cotton bowl and hopefully not the Holiday bowl (worst case scenario). If OSU beats OU we have a better shot at making the BCS. Only two teams from any given conference can go to the BCS.

well there is a really small chance that we would go to the Holiday Bowl. If Mizzou beats OU they get the automatic bid so only one south team would make it in the BCS bowl, but luckily this most likely wont happen. if that happened we'd still go to cotton i think. if OU lost in the big 12 game, texas would get the at-large bid and OU would drop below us. -------------------- ![]() |

This is why the BCS is great in theory but sucks in delivery.
It should be 1-12 going to the BCS bowl games. Screw the conference alliances. No way in hell should a four loss Big East or ACC team get in before a one loss Tech team or an undefeated Boise State. Pretty cool that two teams UT beat, OU and Missouri, are playing for the Big 12 championship. Stay classy, BCS -------------------- ![]() ![]() |
