My friend thought of this, and after thinking he was nuts, I started thinking about it and like it a lot.

There's always a problem of politicians lying to get elected. Not promising something, following up on it, and getting it shot down in Congress; But flat out lying to the American voters during campaigns. Promising whatever gets votes, then sitting back and buttfucking our country for the next four years (W, I'm talking about you).

If you promise change, and try to enact that change but it doesn't pass, fine. But if you promise change, get elected and don't follow up on those promises, you'll be charged with treason after your term is over.

Talk about balancing power between the people and dirty politicians who think they can do whatever the fuck they want without repercussion

if you want to fix the problem of lying politicians then get rid of the politicians

all we need government for is to coin money and protect the people, other than that they need to stay out of our fucking business

If I had an illegal agenda, I'd become a politician.

... and exactly how is Bush a dirty politician?

Also, if we wanted to try politicians for lying for their own personal agenda, then why don't we spread that idea to the entire American population. Hang every one of us who lie. I give this country 6 months before all of us are dead.

If I lie, I end up hurting maybe one, two people. If a politician lies his way in to office he hurts the entire country. Clearly there is a difference. Politicians should be held to a higher moral and ethical standard than the common citizen. That's part of the responsibility of being an elected official.

it's about your obligations and duties.

doesn't matter what you campeigned on, your duty is basically outlined in the constitution.

you're obligated to do what you said you were going to do, but it's just an obligation and voters are suppose to decide if you stay in or not.

to hold them to a higher and more ethical standard...and who's going to write those laws...the same people you want to me more moral and ethical. that'd be like letting the KKK write the hate crime laws.

Good point. It's hard to try to fix a problem when the only people who can fix said problem are the ones responsible for causing it in the first place

It's kind of hard when a majority of the country is too stupid to vote. I'm referring to the woman who believed that she wouldn't need to worry about putting gas in her car or paying her mortgage if Obama was elected. 70% of blacks didnt even know who Obama's running mate was (according to a CNN poll). Most had no idea about any of the issues he stood to support.

He just ran on hopes, dreams, and butterfly kisses which isnt really quantifiable, so he can't do anything wrong.

For just how stupid the electorate can be, see Alaska where the incumbent senator who was convicted on 7 felony counts of CORRUPTION (allegedly for filtering taxpayer money to his son) ___TWO WEEKS AGO is on his way to being reelected.

facepalm, America....facepalm.

You bitched to me constantly about small business taxes, and now it seems like you are a bleeding heart liberal.... you do know they will probably INCREASE small business taxes, right?

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Bush was not a lame duck President. He is a scape goat President, taking the blame for policy mistakes over at least the last 20 years. The subprime lending crisis and the war in Iraq are two excellent examples.

The only reason Will is bitching about the Republicans is because it's trendy to do so. Had he a real reason to bitch about them, I might not laugh, but as best as I can tell he's going to be just as fucked over by the Democrats as the rest of us will be, but it's trendy to not think so.

Only God is capable of memorizing the names of his entire following.
