Sarah Palin on the war in Iraq:

QUOTE
“pray for our military men and women, who are striving for what is right for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God, that’s what we have to make sure we’re praying for. There is a plan, and that plan is God’s plan.”

Yeah? People who believe in God usually also believe he has a plan for each of us. What's wrong with that? Don't even try to twist this into a "God told us to attack so-in-so" because that's not what she said or meant.

Billy, I was under the impression that you were a McCain supporter. Has his choice of Palin as VP changed your views?

if she believes in fate, then what happened is in accordance with God's will.

Unrelated to my first sentence, I don't really see anything wrong with what she said. To be honest with you, Saddam needed to be taken out of power sooner or later. Bush just did an awful job at convincing the American people that he was a threat. Yes, sadly many people lost their life over there. The situation is getting immensely better over there now though. Also, I find it completely ironic that Obama wants to pull us out of there, yet he himself has never served in the military, and he has no children serving in the military. Cheney was a prisoner of war. Palin's son will be leaving for Iraq soon. Seems like Palin would want to believe that it was in God's will for this war to happen because her son will be there soon.

I didn't agree with the war at first either. Then, I had no opinion on it for a while. I guess I kinda started to change my opinion about a year ago when I realized "hey, better now then later." I figure the more time we give terrorist organizations time to group and plot, the worse off we are. Al Qaeda had a strong presence over there until recently.

what does that have to do with what I said?

Did you know that McCain can't lift one of his arms over his head because of a permanent injury he sustained from the torture he endured during captivity?

whoah... too many prepositional phrases. Oh well.

His mother is 96 years old. The way I see it is anyone whose mother is still alive is young enough to be President. That woman looks fantastic for her age. And I just realized that I wrote Cheney instead of McCain. Where the hell is my brain?

I cannot, with any sense of morality and what is right, support the empowering of a religious nut.

wouldn't that make every act of agression/war god's will? thus, defeating the purpose of saying it?

what does not being in the military have to do with pulling troops out?
QUOTE (From Article Two of the United States Constitution)

'Terrorist' organizations have been acting out for a long time. The US is just new to it. Look at the 1920 wall street bombing, the KKK, unibomber, OKC bombing, etc. Not all terrorists form from the mid east. We just care about the 1 group in the mid east. And we care less about them then we do Iraq at this moment.
