I just received a bill in the mail for a whopping 60 cents for driving through a toll part of 183. Only thing is, I've never driven on any toll road. The only time my truck was driven by someone other than me was when my roommate borrowed it to pick up a washer and dryer. He went nowhere near the toll road.

60 cents is nothing, but it's the principle of the matter. The bill stated that an automobile with my license plate was photographed on the toll, so obviously they have picture evidence. I don't like tolls one bit so I decided to screw with them and demand photographic evidence to be mailed to me. Figured I'll make em pay far more than 60 cents to collect a bullshit bill.

They refused.

So, wait. They can accuse me of using a toll, refuse to provide any sort of evidence that I used it, and bill me?
Fuck that shit. If I had the time, I'd seriously think about finding a lawyer pro bono. If they're pulling this shit with me, you know they're sending others fictitious bills. They made us pay for the road, they charged us to use it, and now they're charging us not to use it? What is that, triple taxation?

You never drove past Anderson Mill on 183? Even if you take the exit just past Anderson Mill, you get tolled.

Also ask for which toll booth got you.

It's 60 cents. Pay it. Write a letter saying you are paying it but know you didn't commit the "crime." If it happens again, file a formal complaint.

yea, fuck that. demand proof. the law IS required to prove it. also, if they refuse to provide proof, tell them you will go to the news and report their false alligations, and all the implications they have in falsely charging people.

chances are you passed a toll station unknowingly...

there are several ramps on 620 or 45 and north mopac


go to www.txtag.org and find the ramps...it's very possible you used one..like entering and exiting quickly or something

they charge .60 cents if you use a ramp and they send the bill by mail

there's an exit RIGHT off where 620 turns into 45 toll and they will dock you 60 cents
