Texas is just one of six states in which handguns can't be worn in plain view. The other 44 states, in the parlance of gun advocates, are known as "open-carry" states. More than 3,500 people have signed an online petition asking Gov. Rick Perry and the Legislature to permit Texans to wear their handguns without concealing them. The Texas Citizens Defense League supports the petition, which requests that people who legally buy handguns be allowed to carry them openly, except in places prohibited by law. I guess it wouldn't bother me, so long as you still had to have a license to carry. I've been to gun ranges quite a bit now and see a lot of careless people. I think this would deter crime quite a bit, but I also think there'd be a lot of accidents. What do you guys think of this? |

i am for and against it. i don't mind open carry, but i still want the people to have a "concealed handgun license" i want the people who are gonna wear it to at least crank the $200-$300 into it. this will deter the group of people i DON"T want walking around with the guns, the poor niggers who will be trying to use them as fashion statements. thats my main complaint, people who aren't trained in them trying to look like badasses

I think I am both for and against it as well, though not in a racist way like Brandon...
You'd have people of all colors carrying guns untrained just to look tough. Hell, some people might be willing to fork over the $200-$300 fee just for that alone. Then you'd have the people willing to take the time to train and such that could carry them as well, though that would definitely be a minority. -------------------- |

i will admit, if i can open carry and conceal carry, i will definately do so with the Keltec plr-16

I'm against it. Not only for the fashion statement argument, but also because I think it will give criminals who don't have access to a weapon, access to a gun. They see Mr. Joe Bob with a gun at his waste, run over, grab it, and shoot up the place. Then again, I am for most gun control laws. I don't like guns too much at all.
