so my husband just called me from work to tell me that he was looking online to see if his next station assignment hit and it is saying pre-emptively that we are being sent to Georgia. I was really kinda hoping to get stationed in El Paso, and there was a strong possibility of that. It could still happen, but it's looking like it will be Ft. Stewart, Georgia. I have wanted to move out of texas for so long... that is until I got pregnant. Now, I'm a little scared. We will have to do this huge move half way across the country with a 1-2 month old baby. He has family on the east coast, but the closest is in North Carolina. I'm a little scared now. El Paso would have been so ideal because my mom can't work so she told me she would watch the baby for free during the day while I worked. I'm kinda sad now, but at the same time it's exciting. I don't know what I think actually. I know this is all randomness but its almost 2 am so I can't call anyone to talk. Anyone know anything about that area of Georgia? I'm about to start googling stuff. I am hoping it's close to Florida. I love Florida. Blah. I'm still scared

It's the military life. If ya don't like where ya get stationed, just wait a couple years and you'll go somewhere else

ya... I know. It's what I have always wanted.... to move around and stuff. But then all of a sudden the past few months, me and my mom started to get really close again. We had been having problems for years. And I really thought having my brother around the baby would be good for both the baby and my brother, as he is autistic. He loves children. Just sucks cuz I was hoping to be able to be around family the first 2 years after the baby is born. I will live. It will be neat, but dang... far. That's a big change for me. It's not finalized yet though...shit could happen.

*sigh* well, just found out it's Georgia for sure. Shane called me to tell me, and then I was so upset that I called my mom and she told me her and my dad have known for a few days but figured they should wait until we found out ourselves (my dad works for the dept. of defense).
We move the last part of August. It sucks cuz my lease ends in July. We pay $405 in rent right now, but Stephanie (who also pays the same) is leaving also when the lease ends. For Shane and I to stay in this apt for the month of August, it will cost us a $1000. They up the rent if you are out of lease, and we will have to pay for the whole apt since steph will be gone. Plus, the baby will have just been born. Anyone know what price range I can expect to pay at an extended stay hotel? We might do that if it's cheaper. I'm so stressed out right now. I wanted to work so badly, but with moving to Georgia, I will probably have to wait because there will be no one to watch the baby. Plus, we are only going to have one vehicle since I'm getting rid of my truck. Ugh. I'm tired. I really should go to bed instead of bearing my soul on the internet. Be kind to me, people. Rough times. |

I am willing to bet you might be able to find an extended stay hotel that would end up a little cheaper, but it will be a small place....and might not be THAT much cheaper.

Sign another contract then break out of it with military orders? I thought about this but the rent will be the same just about. They don't do individual leases at these apartments, and they are increasing rent for everyone. No matter what it will stay around $1000And Lance, what did you like about Atlanta? Everyone I know who has been to the area hated it there |
