Another good ol time travel one
You are granted a chance to go back in time, but are limited in the types of memories you can retain. Be sure to read below for details.
You retain everything and will go back one month. [ 2 ] ** [25.00%]
You retain only social experiences & events and will go back ten years [ 2 ] ** [25.00%]
You retain only technical/school/work/career knowledge & will go back two years [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]
You retain only broad historical knowledge (world/U.S./local events) & will go back twenty years [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]
You choose not to go back in time at all. [ 4 ] ** [50.00%]

It is an instant choice. You would not have time to go research anything first, memorize some lotto ticket, etc. The time you choose to go to, you would also go back to your age at that time. I.e. if I went back twenty years, I'd be eight years old again, in my same old house, same parents, same everything, except I'd have broad historical knowledge of the next twenty years.

Social experiences = stuff like relationships, friends, family events, etc.

Technical/school/work/etc = stuff you learned at school, in your job, etc.

Broad historical knowledge = whatever you remember about newsworthy events, 9/11, iraq war, school shootings, elections, etc.

Remember, it's only stuff that you would actually recall from memory. Obviously everyone knows when 9/11 was, but the exact date of some school shooting, or the people's names might be a little more difficult to recall smile.gif. Also remember you will be your same age from that time. Some people might have trouble believing a three year old about some historical events. Hell, as a three year old you might not even be able to write down the events before you forget them smile.gif

Best poll I've seen posted in a while...

So much so I really don't have an answer yet. Gotta really think about this one!

i think i would rather only go back one month, yes, it is a completely selfish desire to fix some things that have happened lately, but i feel i can accomplish the most with my full memories intact.

i don't feel that i could accomplish much to help/prevent events that i know were going to happen, simply because i feel any attempt on my part would be met with sever opposition, and i'd be questioned heavily on my involvement with such events, and then the future i created would be nothing like the one i remember, thereby rendering my origional attempt to help/prevent useless.

I wouldn't go back in time. I would rather just fix my problems and move on.

I'd go back six years and take one memory with me: How my dad died, so I could warn him about going hunting that weekend

My answer to the poll:

I would not go back in time. Everything I have experienced, am experiencing, and will experience have brought me life lessons.

...though knowing some lotto numbers would be nice. =P

For me it was a tough decision between #1 & #2. I figure w/#1 I'm sure I could make some coin off of a few sports games I might recall (even though my memory is terrible anyways). But on #2 I could always right a few wrongs on some old relationships.

I once turned down a three-some with an old girlfriend fearing it would damage the relationship.

I would go back in time and make the right choice.
