Last I saw, it won't be a direct hit on New Orleans. Did it shift to the east over the past six hours?

Yeah the current track shows a little west of New Orleans, which is worse. It ensures they get the dirty side.

Is there any expected flooding for Dallas because of the end of Gustav? I'm asking because someone I know is trying to take a flight out of Dallas Monday -- I don't even know if the hurricane will even make landfall then, but I still thought I should ask.

Because, hopefully, they'll catch the hint. God obviously sent the first, weaker hurricane as a warning to gtfo before the "Big One" comes, but no one listened. Now, thousands will die. Oh well. A lot of inland people will see their property values skyrocket once it becomes oceanfront...speaking of, I should go buy some cheap land in the west in preparation for that "Big One".

You're fine. It's not supposed to be up that way until the end of the week, and even then it'll just be a depression by then. Yall will probably get a fair amount of rain but doubtful it will be any big deal.

Eh I doubt it. Watching the news and seeing them talk to the people, you don't see anyone going "eh it's no big deal I"ll ride it out". They're all getting the hell outta there. A lot of them also said they're not coming back.

Nobody's inland property will become oceanfront laugh.gif. It's storm surge flooding, it all eventually goes back out. Lake Pontchartrain might spill out a little bit into the city more permanently, but that'll just become a nasty swampy mess, not some high dollar ocean front property.

Man we left New Orleans just in time. We left at 6 am yesterday. Hardly any traffic at all driving to Jacksonville. We are now in Richmond Hill, GA right outside of Savannah. We were watching the news and they closed I-10 East after Mississippi. HAHA. Woot!

I'm not hoping for any loss of life, but I hope Gustav wipes out New Orleans. That place is a shit hole.
