I'm not approving his actions at all. I'm saying that war will make you snap. I thought it was unfortunate for him to be put into this much stress and just to snap. I believe he does need to be locked up. I'm a huge animal rights activist, ASPCA supporter... blah blah blah. remember, y'all used to make fun of me for being a PETA supporter? Yeah. But he was just under a lot of stress.

I kinda see it both ways. On one hand, who knows what this marine has gone through. I don't ever want to have a face-to-face conversation with a marine just back from Iraq (or whatever war zone area) ever again. The shit that flies out of their mouths flagrantly disregards the sanctity of human life.

On the other hand, however, when signing up for the military, especially the marines, you know what you are going to be handed. Right now, it's no secret that there is some fucked up shit going on in other parts of the world. You need to have the mental capacity to be able to deal with what you experience without "snapping." That's not really a valid excuse for throwing a puppy off a cliff (or whatever Impala wants to classify this ledge as haha). It is, however, an excuse to go get some psychological counseling.

I don't really speak ignorantly when it comes to this topic; although none of us can really know what happens to the human mind and psyche unless we have personally experienced it. That I am aware of, none of us have served time in Iraq or Afghanistan. I just know what people very close to me have told me. The ones I knew learned to deal with what they experienced, but it took them months, sometimes a year, to return to "normal" after having been over there. It also took counseling and training of the emotions.
