I was looking at my sister-in-law's pictures and noticed that there is a massive pool and lazy river in front of the rec center!
What?! When did that happen? What do they do in the winter? -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

I was actually pretty against the Leisure Pool idea until I got to see it -- it turned out pretty tasteful and I like how they included a pool with lanes in it as well. What's also cool is that they have family hours. A lot of community pools have been closing around the city so this is probably a welcome sight for most families. I just wish the thing came in not 50% over budget....

I miss swimming. They closed down the Natatorium here at Eastern for renovation/repair. It was supposed to take about 4 months. That was last August...

You request a lot less money than you actually need to get approval for the project, then you come back like "Ohhhhh! But if we had another $XXXXXXXXXX we will have a fully automated super turbo fully redudant midget widget articulator integrated with the electronically actuated wumpy mumpus drying system!!!" And you get more money. It's a cat-and-mouse game -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

Point being, it keeps most of the freeloaders out.

but not the clever ones....
i agree with you completely though. if i was at an apartment that had a pool, i wouldn't want it filled with freeloaders either. but that still doesn't stop me. (asshole, i know) -------------------- |

forgive me, i didn't mean to imply that it was. was just saying that there are plenty of freeloaders out there that never get caught, no matter what "safety" is put in place

I really don't think its fear of being caught people don't do it. Its that people don't want to be viewed as trashy, even to complete strangers.
