Can't believe someone would pull a stunt like that in an airline jet...

well from how you post, it doesnt seem you are strapped for cash.

at least where i come from getting a pilots license and renting the craft to get your hours is a lot of dispensable money. especially considering the amount of flying hours you need for a commercial job = $$$$$$

True, a private's pilot's license runs around $6,000 now.

The airlines have a lot of incentives, including paying for your flight school if you sign a 3-year contract with them.
