they already do this officially with airline boarding passes. although I dunno about the security of allowing it for stuff like credit cards and such. i guess i'm not just huffing and puffing every day with rage over the six or so cards in my wallet.

interesting idea though. although not really an iPhone specific ability.

I use the 3D boarding passes from time to time. It's nice not to have to print the boarding pass.

I agree that Macs just aren't user friendly enough for an office environment yet. I mean, I used them a lot at school because that's all the journalism department had in their labs here at Texas State. I had several classes in these computer labs. I really don't even feel that it is training myself to use a different operating system that is the problem. If that were the problem, I would have had a difficult time using Adobe software when all I used before was Office (I know the software does separate things, but the setup of the programs are so completely different). I guess a good example of this was using Microsoft FrontPage instead of Dreamweaver. FrontPage is so very similar in it's setup to Office programs. I had no problem using Dreamweaver as an alternative though. IMO, Macs just operate in a way that makes less sense. There are things I like, though. I mean, the Macs I was using had USB ports on the backs of the keyboards and monitors. I had never seen anything like that before. It's kinda neat. On PC's, I like that I can click the X on the application to shut it down. On Macs, though, this seems to only put it running in the background. I never messed with the settings, though, so I don't know if there is a way to change that. Windows based systems also make the desktop feel like a filing cabinet that is neatly arranged. Macs on the other hand don't have that feel. It's kinda like they are going for the more flashy and fun setup. My brain just seems to work a lot more cleanly with a Windows-based system. I can use Macs just fine. In fact, I helped fix some application issues on some of the school computers. From what I understand, Macs don't need a file extension the way that Windows does. So, if I start an InDesign file on a Mac, it won't have a file extension. However, if I want to be able to use that file on a PC, I have to assign it a file extension to open the file. Easy. Whatever. Well, the electricity went out all day in our building and it messed up the computers at school. This professor went through the halls desperately seeking someone who could help her class open their project files. I said I might be able to help. I went in there, and for some reason the Macs weren't recognizing the files so I just told everyone to change the file name to include extension .indd and the projects opened just fine. It was weird. It was doing that on even Word Processor files because I had the same issue when trying to open a paper I had written. I guess my point is that yeah, Macs can be handy for some applications but they just aren't as easy to use as Mac lovers would like you to think. Basic troubleshooting is a lot more complicated IMO.
My final complaint is more with Mac users. I will admit that the people on here know what they are talking about and what they are doing so this doesn't include any of you. People that aren't super computer savvy who use Macs are fucking morons. *cough* my exroommate *cough* I was working on an InDesign project for school and I asked her to come in my room and look at a few things with me since she is really into computer graphics and all that shit. She starts trying to show me some stuff to change, and she can't figure out how to do what she wanted it to do. I did it, and she was like "oh well, if you only knew how much more simple this is to do on a Mac. PCs are fucking retarded. This program makes no sense on here." Ummm that makes no sense. I learned InDesign on a Mac at school and all the things she wanted to do were the same on both Mac and PC. I would think the problem was more that 1) She actually didn't know what the hell she was doing and wanted me to think that she was really good at InDesign when in fact she was not or 2) I was using a newer version of InDesign than she was (which I don't think was the issue because I heard there were very little difference between CS2 and CS3). I guess my point is that stupid, ignorant Mac users hear that using a Mac is better for design, music production, etc so they assume that a PC can't accomplish the same thing when in fact they can.

Whatever. that's my rant.

There's an audio feed, but the video won't be up until after the keynote.

well they definitely fixed all the issues I had (or at least, added the things I wanted). good job on their part. still wish it had a slide out KB though. this thing could definitely be a possibility for me, pending on how the new HTC phones turn out later in the year.

have you tried the touch screen keyboard. i like it hands down over any slide out keyboard with buttons. it took about a day to get used to. a little weird at first because there's no cue that a button is pressed, but now i type 80 words a minute.
