on campus, i am not sure i would seek refuge there. the places that have food also have way too many windows. actually, i don't know of a single building on campus that i would consider for defensible sanctuary. everything is too open, too many windows, not enough weaponry, or doesn't have enough food. plkus, too many people who think they know everything about everything. the only good thing about being on the campus would be the excellent supply of breeding stock.

when it comes to campus buildings, most of them have riot style defenses if they were building in the late 60s and 70s. Sign of the times yo.
Dining halls are actually more than adequate (but just not at Tech except for Wall/Gates and Hulen/Clement) and the kitchens can be locked off from the dining areas. Again, preparation for locking off the expensive things from angsty people staging a sit in. But If i were to pick a residence hall to hole up in, I would go with Chitwood/Weymouth. The only access to the upper floors are through two stair wells and the elevator in each tower, and the stairwell doors open out, so I am confident I can both secure then and bet that zombies won't be able to open the doors. And you can travel from one building to another through the connecting structure roof. But yes, weaponry is bound to be horrible on campus. |

SAM'S CLUB it is close to my house, a quick couple blocks down the marsha sharp freeway, there is also a gun store in a direct line between my house and sam's club (fred's gun emporium) no one thinks about sam's club as the first agenda, so odds of me getting it first are more likely. there are only 2 entrances into the store, and flipping over and stacking long lines of shopping carts in front of the door can be done quickly for temporary fortification, UNTIL i find the damn forklifts in the place, and stack a couple pallets of motor oil or cokes in front of the doors. the inside comes with a back up plan. it's very tall inside, start taking the pallets off the top, and make your living arrangements up there, just in case of forced entry. sam's club has it's own back up generators, and i forget where, but their water source is seperate from lubbock also. as for weaponry... i actively stockpile for the apocalypse, i come with most of the equipment i need already prepared... but i'll snag a few things when/where/from who i need. that's right, i plan on forming rainding parties, mad max style, baby! -------------------- |

Zombies.... the bad guy who can be stopped with a fence.
If they're slow it'll end like night of the living dead... people with guns will shoot them with no major crisis (in the south where guns are allowed). If the recent movie development of fast movers happened then you'd have a much bigger problem... based off of increased speed of infection. Oh and securing a sams or walmart almost seems assinine... because the HORDES of people who will be wanting in or out CONSTANTLY until the infection shows up. You'd stand a greater chance of being killed by an uninfected than by a zombie. I think one of the main keys is to secure large, mobile, Rigs and Trucks (varying size and loads of course) that you can move to the country side. and ALSO pick up supplies along the way. Stores box you in too much and are sure to be traffic logged with living showing up and wanting in (thus making quick exit impossible). Long term you need to get the fuck out of dodge and to a places of your choosing based off of infection size, fortfication ability, and supplies. -------------------- |
