It's not a violation of rights for them to *ask* to see your receipt. It is for them to demand it. They can even demand to see it, but that is still asking. If they forcibly stop you from leaving the store, then it is illegal detainment. They can ask, demand, scream or yell all they want about the receipt, but that is not violating any rights. They only cross the line when they assault or detain. |

it's just one of those things.
is it worth creating a scene to save yourself a minute or two? or just do it and move on? it's a tough area for me, as I like the principle of not getting ripped off / taken advantage of /etc by stupid policies, but then again i absolutely hate dealing with customer service types. if I had a $3 charge on my cable bill that I knew was incorrect, it'd be a tough call to decide whether it was worth my time and energy to call and have it removed. |
