I got a new truck last week and it can use this stuff... no stations in Lubbock yet but I see several in Texas. Has anyone used it yet?

haven't used it or know anybody who has used it

mainly because you lose 1/3 or your hp and fuel efficiency, even for most FFV's

i use a blend with 90% gas and 10% E85 ethanol

i've noticed that when i use the 10% E85 blend I don't get as good gas mileage as pure gas

i have a year 2000 vehicle though, newer models are built with E85 in mind and should get rougly the same gas mileage as normal gas

i'm interested to know how your truck performs with it since it was built for E85, do a test with just gas then with E85

I filled up Saturday with E85, we'll see how it goes...

nope

here's the fuel economy guide released by the EPA for 2006, if you scroll down to Flexible-Fuel vehicles, I think they all get worse gas mileage (some more than others)

I like the gas prices on that 2.40 for premium. I'd have to go with hodge and get a toyota corolla

I believe my car can run on pure E85 but going above 20% E85 voids my warranty, so doing that would probably be a bad thing until I hit 50,000 miles. I drive a 2004 Jetta

E85 ... Yet another political cluster fuck about protecting the environment ...

I'm all for giving farmers business, but I just think it's hilarious how they claim E85 is better for the environment....

As far as I know, it's worse... Creates more nitrogen...

from what i have seen its mostly a trade off from CO2 to NOx. The change was an energy change not an environmental change, the environmental change would come from the production of the fuel not its use.

I would like to see something official about the change in HP or milage becuase of the change in blend. I do remember reading something that the ethonal would place more oxygen within the mixture of fuel.
