We are registering for some electronics for the wedding

Digital Camera (specifically Cannon PowerShot A550 - I have the 540 but Jason wants one of his own)

Video Camera - no idea what kind of format is best to record onto. All the acronyms are lost on me. Don't need anything fancy, just to take some video on the honeymoon kinda thing. Definitely don't want to lug around a huge camera bag full of junk and equipment.

the canon cameras are great. as far as video cameras, depending on what you can spend, one with a built in 20GB drive is the way to go nowadays (around $600+). if you can't afford that, go miniDV (about $300+). I would say steer clear of the mini DVD-R cams. Just my preference though.

You can't go wrong with Canon.

As far as video cameras...

Usually a good place to get a feel for what's good at a certain price range.

consumer review aren't as good as professional reviews. Plus you never know what kind of knowledge they have about cameras.

beachcamera is a good website to buy them at. They almost always got the best prices. Ordered from them a few times and they're awesome.
