Russian hackers found a built-in function which sends all data from an iPhone to a specified web-server. Contacts from a phonebook, SMS, recent calls, history of Safari browser - all your personal information can be stolen. LMAO @ stupid iPhone fanbois |

um... I hope the guys who posted that are Russian because that's some of the worst grammar I've ever seen.
Also, I haven't seen anything about this anywhere else and I am sure it would pop up. Everything I've read has said that the file system on the iPhone is completely hidden and things can only be executed on it if you want to run the risk of possibly disabling the phone forever. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Access to the filesystem was cracked the second day the phone was out dude. No, the way I read it, a layout of the filesystem was discovered, not access to it. To run things on the iPhone (ie, external applications) it has to be done through iTunes and the command line with the application tricking the iPhone into thinking it's running the app. Meaning, you'd have to be pretty darn stupid to "accidentally" run an application on your phone. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Both of those articles state that access to the filesystem has been reached (in my post above) but neither of them say what they can actually do. The Gizmodo article states it might allow program access, but for now they've just shown how to pull something off of the bottom dock. Granted, I'm sure full details will come out soon. Thanks for the Gizmodo link, hadn't seen that before.

I was checking out the specs on the thing (here) and was wondering a couple things.
1. what processor does it use? 2. how much RAM does it have? 3. why does it say it uses OS-X? it's obviously not the same one that's on the desktop macs. 4. headphone frequency response = bullshit. 20Hz-20,000Hz... ok technically yeah, but give me the damn range that is actually loud enough to be audible. |
