I just got mine out a few hours ago and it sucks.
What pain medicine is best, which foods? I took Tylenol 2 and am drinking a milkshake, but its difficult. Also, is it better to swallow or spit out your blood/saliva? I was told to swallow, but just wondering what other people did, etc. Thanks. -------------------- ![]() |

I would stick to soft foods for awhile - mashed potatoes, pudding, yogurt, etc. I'd also avoid any very hot or cold foods, as they'd probably irritate your wound.

Do like I did ... try to be Mr. Tough Guy and not take any pain pills afterwards.
Then, after like 4 hours and all the shit they jacked you up on wears off, writhe in agony and cry out for pain pills, pop like 4 of the fuckers (I had vicodins) at once, and sit back and enjoy the buzz Oh and make sure you have them refill your prescription because it hurts 2,3, hell 4 times if they will. Oh and when you come off the vicodins and are shaking and sweaty, drink a LOT of wiskey -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I hope that milkshake wasn't through a straw or you're in for a world of suck later on. I must have really lucked out becuase i had one pulled last tuesday and after the anasthetic wore off i was fine. the soreness from biting down on gauze for the hours it took for the bleeding to stop hurt more than anything. So now I have an entire hydrocodone prescription untouched. I wonder how much i can get from some moron raver kids for this... hmm....

swallow, don't spit. don't use a straw. drink cool water. but yeah nothing too hot or too cold because it will irritate the wound. you shouldn't suck anything though because it will tear out the blood clot. I say warm soup is your best bet; just ladle it into your mouth.
good luck with the recovery process. and if you puke blood repeatedly I would call the doctor because that likely means you're not forming a clot. -------------------- Je suis toute du merde.

im not puking at all but its been a little over 24 hours and i'm still bleeding. thats normal, right? as long as it's only bleeding slightly it's normal. A mouth full of blood at this point is abnormal. If you're still bleeding tomorrow night, though that's kind of scary. -griseyeux This post has been edited by Psykopath: Jul 5 2007, 06:49 PM -------------------- |

don't mess with the blood clots on your sockets. Dry root is the worst feeling.

I think I ate like normal after the first day, but Jello for the first. Pretty sure UP dining hall had like a seafood dinner the following day and I ate at that.
Just 200 mg of Advil for the pain. Don't think the doctor even prescribed anything else for it. I spit out the blood. Swallowing it can make you sick. But don't use force when you spit or you'll remove the clot. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?
