I am scheduled for my yearly review at work this week, and we are going to discuss a new position title for me. For the past year, I didn't really have one. Whenever I had to put something, I just put "office manager," but I'd really like a title that reflects all that I do, and that would look better on my resume. I work directly under the CFO of a privately owned specialty electronics retailer and do a little bit of everything for the company. Those of you that know me, know that I work my tail off!
Current Responsibilities: All Bookkeeping Monthly bank and merchant service (credit card) statement reconciliation - 15 total Generate and review monthly financial statements Report sales to retail space management, 5 retail stores Collect sales tax audit data Calculate, pay sales and use tax – 3 states Calculate commissions using three structures to accommodate varying levels of sales associates and managers Process bi-monthly payroll using ADP Complete paperwork for new employees -Background screening -Report W4 tax withholdings -Health plan enrollment -Direct deposit enrollment Process expense reports – Corporate AmEx, Mastercard and personal expenses Create and maintain monthly payroll analysis – employee earnings as a percent of company margin ( I like to know who is earning their keep) Create and maintain monthly inventory analysis – sales and margin comparison by product category and vendor (It’s easier for everyone to earn their keep if they know what items currently produce the highest margin, and it helps our purchasers know which vendors are really cutting us better deals) Process invoices to operate as accounts payable & accounts receivable -Approximately 250 invoices per week -2 weekly check runs Vendor relations – work with over 50 credit reps to ensure all accounts remain current Resolve credit card & customer disputes On top of this, I do all the secretarial work, answering phones, filing scanning, making appointments and what not. Also, I've just been asked by the manager of our Dallas store to help with some new promotional material. My question for you all is, What am I? What do I tell my boss I want my title to be, because I have no idea! |

Assistant CFO. CFO = Chief Financial Officer? So, Assistant Chief Financial Officer.
Sounds like you're more of a human resources person though. The State of Texas calls those people Human Resources Specialist I, HRS II, HRS III, etc. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

to make it sound good, all you gotta do is make your title have use of a comma.
i.e. Manager, Financial Operations looks good on a business card or email footer: Kendra Manager, Financial Operations Company Address Phone |
