What's worse is my dad is an amazing cook. He always made his own sauces and dishes. And me being the picky little brat I always ruined it by having to be served first (so I could get noodles before the sauce was added for example) or served something completely different (a bowl of cereal, a sandwich)
yeah my mom always had to make mine first too. She either had to make me something completely different or she had to leave stuff out. I wish we would have known this about each other sooner.... we could have met up in LBK and had picky people dinners. heh

QUOTE (James @ Jun 10 2007, 10:58 PM) *
When I first tried one a few weeks ago, I was expecting it to taste somewhat like the green, but it was so different that it threw me. So I tried a couple more pieces and just couldn't convince myself to put it in the salad, so I threw the entire thing away. What a waste of a buck sad.gif

I'm kind of curious as to what red tastes like now.

I don't think I've had yellow ones, but reds are sweeter than green bell peppers. I much prefer reds to greens.

I always win that "I have never game" because I can say that I have never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a hot dog, a hamburger, catsup, mustard, steak...etc

You don't sound like an ass, but I'm not blaming society for me being a picky eater. I'm not going you guys are all assholes if you didn't eat this crap I would look more normal...

I don't know why...it just really bothers me when someone eats, lets say, a carrot and then says it tastes gross. It's not gross...it's perfectly fine. If the carrot had snails, dirt, and was half moldy then you can say it's gross.

Unless of course the taste buds are so screwed up that something that tastes fine and normal to other people tastes like ass to you. Then I'd recommend going to a doctor.

Given this bit of news, I won't be chomping at the bit to try a red bell pepper now. Sweet is not an adjective that should be used when describing a pepper :-\

I dont know about KC, but I have been to several doctors for my eating problem...one doctor that was a very expensive specialist. She said that I have very fucked up taste buds.... so yeah, KC might also.

well, since this thread started I have maintained my 1. no processed foods, 2. fruit in the morning daily diet plan.

pretty stoked on it. today had a banana, turkey/swiss on wheat, and a bowl or chicken tortilla soup.

for dinner I think I'll have some chicken teriyaki and a bottle of wine.

hey...baby steps...

Interesting. Did the doctor give you a name for this?

Bell peppers are in the pepper family, but they do not contain capsaicin which is in hot peppers. Bell peppers can be sweet but some people don't like them because they can taste "green".

its a hard flavor to describe, but once you have something that 'tastes green' you will understand what people mean.
