It takes a pretty sick person to torture and kill an animal. There are also studies suggesting that violence against animals may be an early sign of violence against humans: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/w.../animalkillers/ Have you read Vick's indictment? It's disturbing stuff. He executed dogs, electrocuted them, etc. Yeah, but the difference here is that Vick's not a child, unless you're suggesting that it's also an early sign of violence against humans in adults, too? Then where's the supporting research? -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

Yeah, but the difference here is that Vick's not a child, unless you're suggesting that it's also an early sign of violence against humans in adults, too? Then where's the supporting research? I don't have any evidence of that but the fact that Michael Vick is a "role model" should have some weight here. People walk around in his jersey, talk about his plays, etc... Well, then again, people walk around in Che t-shirts and act like he was a good human being. Little do they know. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Vick Indicted hes indicted and suspended from the falcons. but some gayness occured and after a visit said "vick promised to change his life" he better get jail time. if he doesnt its obvious unfair treatment because of celebrity. Last I read he wasn't suspended from the Falcons, they released a statement saying they were waiting for all the facts to come out, i.e. the verdict from the trial. The first day of court is on the first day of training camp, so he'll miss camp. Also, I had heard there was a tape a while back, but now I'm hearing that he didn't attend the matches, he just funded them and set up the whole operation. Who knows, it'll come out though. The rumor on the street is that it's his cousin that's giving the Feds all of their info. He has a cousin who lives at that house but isn't in the indictment with Vick and the other 3 guys. Obviously he should be in there so it appears he's talking to save his ass. As far as I'm concerned it's all technicalities from here. A federal indictment takes quite a bit of info gathered from the FBI and other federal agencies to get. If they can indict him then I'm pretty convinced he's guilty of something. From here on out it's just a matter of how bad his offenses are. I haven't heard any contradictory arguments against him being neck deep in this stuff. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! To add to the original topic: Vick is a loser. Flipping off the fans, the Ron Mexico incident, the Aquafina fake water bottle secret weed compartment thing, missing a flight to speak at a seminar for retarded youth (something to that effect) then blaming the airline - who he happens to endorse, the dogfighting ring, pictures of him smoking a blunt on Myspace.....the guy is a lowlife, plain and simple.
I don't understand why he's even considered a star. His stats are lousy. He throws more interceptions than TD's. He's never won a meaningful game, in college or the pros. Other than some highlight reel scrambles, he's a below average quarterback. I hope the feds and Godell throw the book at him. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

For instance....
QUOTE CINCINNATI  A judge ruled that a teenager will be tried as an adult for the death of an 18-month old boy he is accused of repeatedly swinging against a wall because he was frustrated with the child's toilet training. Derris Smith, 18, the live-in boyfriend of the child's mother, has been charged with murder. He was 17 on June 27, when authorities say he delivered the beating that led to Malakai Glenn's death four days later. The boy's mother, 20-year-old Sasha Glenn, testified Wednesday that the impact of the child hitting the wall left drywall stuck to his head and cracked a wooden door. "When I picked him up he put his arms around me," Glenn said. "He was staring at me for a minute with big eyes, then he went limp." The child never regained consciousness and died after being hospitalized at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Following the Wednesday hearing, Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Thomas Lipps said Smith should be tried as adult. The case will now go to a grand jury. During the court hearing, Smith and his parents, who sat by their son, also cried. Glenn said she was folding laundry when she heard a "boom, a thump" and found Smith gripping the front of the toddler's pajama top. She said she took her son to the bathroom to wash the drywall off his head and that Smith told the boy "he needed to start listening." When Glenn said the boy had had enough, Smith told her, "Don't tell me what to do," she testified. "He picked him up and hit his head on the wall" before dropping him on the bed. Smith is being held in the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center on $500,000 bond. This story makes me very angry and fills me with a desire use his head for a punching bag until my hands are covered in his brains and he hasn't even been convicted yet. I shed a tear for the child. They're very similar in that both victims had their heads bashed against a floor/wall. Dunno. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

Why would Marcus have any bearing on his brother??? That's an ignorant statement. Nah, it's a pretty good indicator of how they were raised. Mike has been involved with problems just like Marcus has, but Marcus isn't as talented (and pulled a gun on someone) so they weren't covered up as well. Marcus got into a bunch of trouble at VT, then he went to spend the summer with Michael to "straighten up" and came back only to get into more trouble. After that time is when Vick's true colors started to show and he started to make big mistakes in the public. It's pretty easy to see that they are the same person because they have the same upbringing. Just give someone money and they become more of what they are. In Michael Vick's case the millions of dollars he got straight out of college enabled him to be an even larger degenerate. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! how the hell does someone not condone dog fighting? jeff do you have any pets of any kind?
can i go slam their head into the floor until their skulls explode? do you not have anything against kids or adults torturing animals? not threatening im just saying how can someone not be totally against that kind of behavior. if you've ever seen some of the dogs and what they do to them your mind would change people in dog fighting rings steal, kidnap, buy other dogs of any type to "calm" the fighting dogs after a match to the death (obviously the other dog was ripped apart for the enjoyment of people). that "Calming" dog is typically a lab, a puppy, any sort of dog or other animal (cats). that "calming" dog is also typically mutilated and torn apart or left practically torn apart and left on the floor to die a slow agonizing death alone. on the news i heard the falcons had suspended him dogfighting and training for it is why pitbulls have a bad rap and ignorants want to kill them. not all of them are badly beaten until they respond to everything with aggression BECAUSE of fear. breeders exploited a natural strength pitbulls had - physical strength and loyalty. that used that and turned some into monsters. pitbulls dont naturally tear animals from limb to limb. you have to shock, beat with bats, starve, sleep deprieve, seperate them from other animals and intimidate them and when they are "rescued" if they ever are they have to all be put down because they have been abused so badly they cant ever get any better if anything animal cruelty and abuse fines and penalties are way too lax. thankfully they are getting stiffer and james think about what kind of adult abuses an animal. animal abusers typically have deep seeded mental and emotional issues. dogs are pretty much defenseless against humans (if they are treated right and naturally). for an adult to take advantage of a defenseless, unconditonally trusting animal hellooooo thats a pretty sick person. -------------------- Little monkeys making money

Yeah, but they're not doing it to people. The science community even draws a line between people and animals - we can do all kinds of tests on animals that we can't do on people. Why? Because they're value is perceived to be less. Their populations can mature faster than humans, so if we mess up, it's ok, just make another.
I don't think it's fair to compare someone's pet to a random dog on the street either. The pet is often treated as a person, but these fighting dogs are always treated as animals. Beating a pet is like beating a person and pretty sick, but beating an animal is different somehow, even if the dogs are the same species...hell, even from the same litter. -------------------- Spam?
