yeah, and if greg didn't have a 600x600 image in his sig this would never have happened. and jessica, for the record, there was a discussion about doing this in the mod section because greg routinely has annoying sigs. It was either this or straight up banning him.

I really don't think anybody on this board would abuse their power to change sigs just because the sigs annoy them, much less ban people for it.

I would like to add that if there isn't a rule restricting signature images, no matter how annoying they might be, then it really isn't proper to either ban the person or remove their signature. Obviously, this is Lance's world and he has the freedom to do as he will, but if he takes too much liberty with that freedom, he's gonna find himself as the only citizen of his world.

Everybody can argue technicalities all they want, but the truth of the matter is that greg intended for his sig to be annoying. Just like he intended for his flash avatars to be annoying. This isn't the first time he's tried to be intentionally annoying. There's no arguing about that. I don't think removing something that was meant solely to bug people is that big of a deal in the first place. It's lance's forum, let him do what he wants. It's not exactly like greg has been a regular or even coherant contributor since Techsans v2.0 started, he's spent most of his time just trolling and/or spamming.
If he wants to leave, i have the feeling it's not going to tear our reality apart. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

While there aren't any written rules about signatures, per se, it should be understood that images that are excessively large (either in pixel size or file size) are unacceptable. That having been said, regardless of Greg's past behavior, the proper course of action should have been to first ask him to change the signature and, if he refused or ignored the request, then remove/change it.

Greg and Alex routinely have mega-sized sigs in their profile just to be annoying. I think pretty much everyone on here realizes their goal is to be annoying as possible.
So all in all, an annoying sig got changed to a less annoying one, boo hoo hoo, cry me a river. Most of the mods agreed with it and thought it'd be funny. Everyone get their panties out of a wad. |
