No, the mods didn't go power tripping and delete posts and threads randomly. Apparently there was weirdness during the server switch and all the posts made during the switch went to the Twilight Zone. Or something. Sorry?

okay, long story short, for some reason the dns for the new server hasn't propagated throughout texas, but everyone out of state (or perhaps on a different backbone) seems to be able to use the new dns address. If you know someone that just HAS to use the board IMMEDIATELY, have them download and use Tor. It should bounce you around so you're grabbing the dns from out-of-state, plus it's anonymous. It's rather slow though, that's just the way it works. I'm using it now, as a matter of fact.
So anyways, a lot of posts and messages (pretty much anything that's still being pointed to the old server (if the ip starts with 216, it's the old one -- don't even bother) are pretty much gone. Everything you're reading right now is on the new server (207). Can't say for sure when this will be fixed, Lance would have a better Idea than I would, as it's his hosting service. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

The site is now on the new server and all the DNS problems have been resolved. There was a problem with the resolv.conf file which was routing some board users to the old server instead of the new one. As of now no one should experience any problems.
Also, no posts have been deleted. The mods are only allowed to move threads to a hidden forum out of public view, they don't have deletion capabilities. If you think someone deleted your post it probably got split or merged into another thread. |
