I heard about that indoor ski deal and have a couple reservations...

for one, it will be populated by crappy boarder "brahs" from plano with "mad" attitude and zero skills. secondly, you're not outdoors, which is a big factor with respect to my mindset while skiing.

that said, I will go and try it out if/when it gets built. I don't want to be too close minded when it comes to this shit.

You make Two fantastic points...

I've always been amused by people who live 1,000 miles from mountains but think they're the next Shawn White.

the one thing I've learned to do the past 15+ years is tune out the Terje loudmouth. everyone in texas is rad, yet no one can be put to task the next day on the mtn...'cause well there is no mtn.

I've been on enough group ski trips with shit talking McRads to know the empty can rattles loudest...it's gratifying to see the looks on their faces later on...

I'd still check it out though.

1. I don't know anybody from Plano (myself included) that would ever call themselves or anybody around them a "brah" -- leave that to the homos from Galveston. ("We got waves dude, no, seriously! Hey, where are you goin?"). Also, Fort Worth is too far for most Plano kids to bother driving. they'd rather stay at home and shoot up.

2. Uhhh... did you even look at the picture? I'm pretty sure it's outdoors.

edit:

Resembling an alpine skiing village and featuring first-rate hotel accommodations, fine dining and retail stores, the Coolzone Winterplex’s main attraction will feature a 20-story outdoor ski and snowboard mountain which will be surfaced with Briton Engineering Developments’ Snowflex surface system that mimics real packed powder and provides qualities and conditions like those of mountain snow. The mountain will be complete with chair lifts, a snowboard park with competition half pipe, toboggans and snow tubing. In addition to catering to extreme sports enthusiasts, the park will also feature activities for the entire family including two ice rinks, an outdoor ice trail, a winter wonderland for children with snow, an outdoor concert venue, rock climbing and rides. The project calls for more than 60 acres of attractions.

I saw the pic but it was a rendition so I paid the article no mind. I did however look at the dubai website and the videos and it was indoors.

sorry about the geography-specific plano dig...
