Does anyone know how to change the DHCP Client Host Name in Windows XP Home SP2? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I've already tried the ipconfig method of changing the class ID, but when i check my client list on my router, the name is still the same.

Thanks for any help in advance biggrin.gif

I tried that, changed it and all that stuff, but when i connect to my router, it still shows the old name, i've power cycled the router, modem and computer, still shows the same name on the DHCP Client Table on my router.

Gundam and Thundercats? they would totally get their asses kicked by Decepticon/Cobra.

did you actually reset the router to all the defaults (ie how it came out of the box)? i bet it has some internal battery cache w/that kinda stuff saved in the same place your router's settings would be.
