the dick in your ass isn't there to make you uncomfortable...you are uncomfortable because you choose to be....

it's alot like when you shove your dick in someones throat and calling them a homophobe when they choke.

i don't understand that at all

so i'm guessing michaelango's david is one big gay throat fucking man changing sculpture....any guy that's looked at it is now instantly gay...michaelangelo must've been a cocksmoker

all the doctors in the world are gay because they take anatomy classes and see detailed sections of a dude's balls and they have to touch them

no one is forcing dick down your throat...because that'd be rape and that has nothing to do with what we're talking about

have you ever gone to a store to buy boxers or tighty whities and had to look at the dude's package on the front

if you're a straight guy that's comfortable with yourself...nothing should go through your mind...your goal is finding what fits you...even if the junk is staring you down

do you pick up the package with tongs so you don't touch the picture...why do we make the exception there....it's a guys penis with a cloak on it...it's still penis underneath

if you start thinking about how fucking huge his junk is then there starts to be an problem...

Impala: It's unneccesary to have the dick waving around so much in movie. (I would agree)

Alex: Straight men shouldn't be bothered by seeing a dick. (would also agree)

Just because i can see a dick and not care doesn't mean I WANT to see one all the time in movie... shock factors just annoy me

lol

i don't have a problem with it. i just don't see the reasoning behind alex's responses. alex claims that we should live in a society that accepts nudity more regularly. thats fine, but it's obvious we don't live in that society, otherwise this wouldn't be a controversy.

ok im sorry i went off on a rant...i just think it's stupid that people TO THIS DAY still react this way...we are so desensitized to violence and sex that it has become a normal part of life

the dick in this movie isn't there to make you uncomfortable...you are uncomfortable because you choose to be....the dick is to enhance the story but mainly the character...

yeah the story would've been just fine without a blue swinging dong but then the movie wouldn't be controversial

But that's kinda my point. I don't go to see a movie hoping for something controversial to discuss. I go because I want to see a good story and be entertained. And again, it didn't make me uncomfortable. I didn't wince and look away like one of the teenies you talked about. I just thought it was stupid. Obviously we are not as desensitized as a society as you think we are. I'd bet anything that there was far worse material left on the cutting room floor (i.e. the dude turning full front while he was 100' tall and everyone getting a close up). But it's not like there's an end all be all to this desensitization. All they're doing is raising the bar on what makes something controversial. It doesn't advance the quality of our movies or stories though. All it does is make the next guy who wants to sell his movie based on controvery do something even more taboo. I think if they'd have put less time into worrying about how much blue cock to show and more time into the meat (pun intended) of the movie, it'd have been a two thumbs up blu-ray purchaser for me. It's like they tried to combine the action of 300 with the flashback/scene order wackiness of pulp fiction and failed miserably. Not to mention trying to cram so much into one long movie. As far as plot goes it's akin to me as if they'd tried to do X-Men 1,2,3 all in one 3 hr movie and still develop all the characters fully.

no no no

because nudity can be bad....very bad

i just mean i don't think seeing a man's penis is that big of a deal....especially in a movie....ESPECIALLY when you've been warned (movie ratings)

and i really wouldn't make a big argument out of it except that there was a reason for male nudity in the story...you know...trying to make a point

oh and the fact that everyone mentions blue man dick when they talk about the movie...i guess something worked

I agree,.....the novel is still better...but i think the movie did a very admirable job of capturing the ideas in the book.

I thought it was hilarious that everyone in there with me was pissed about it not being like batman or spiderman or some other action driven show. Very much drama/suspense/mystery with a little action thrown in when needed to move the story.

I am sad that there was no squid tho =(

I don't see the batman/spiderman difference as being drama/suspense/mystery so much as gore/violence/sex. I enjoyed the Batman Begins/Dark Knight story told on the silver screen much better.
