With that other big MMO Age of Conan coming out soon, looks like blizzard is giving up some info on the expansion. check out this article:
http://wow.curse.com/articles/details/9634/ quick summary they got on the new death knight class: QUOTE A quick recap of the information we were told about the Death Knight:
Death knights will be available to all players with level 55 characters Players can create one death knight per realm, per account Death knights can be any of the races Once created, death knights can undertake a series of quests to introduce the player to the new class and its associated lore Death knights utilize a rune system as their resource mechanic Three different rune types are available: Unholy, Frost, and Blood These runes allow death knights to cast spells and abilities; spells can cost any combination of these runes Spent runes automatically refresh after a set period of time, similar to a rogue’s energy bar The death knight will have the ability to customize which array of six runes is currently available As rune abilities are used, the death knight also generates another resource called Runic Power The death knight will have several abilities that cost all available Runic Power, with varying levels of effectiveness based on total Runic Power spent Runic Power decays over time if it’s not spent, similar to a warrior’s rage bar The death knight has three different presences to use: Blood, Frost, and Unholy; each presence grants the death knight a unique buff that will allow him or her to fulfill different roles in combat The death knight can serve either as a tank or as a melee-based damage-dealing class Death knights are designed to be highly viable tanking, magic-using characters Death knights will have the ability to summon undead guardians to fight by their side Death knights will have the ability to summon a Deathcharger mount |

I have a level 10 Mage woot That's as far as I'll level her though because Undercity confuses the shit out of me This is why I stopped playing all my horde characters. Their capital cities were way too disorganized. I can't even raid those cities at 70 because they still confuse the fuck out of me. Just roll a human and enjoy the organization that is Stormwind or a dwarf/gnome and the organization that is Ironforge. -------------------- Spam? Isn't that something poor people eat?

Stormwind? God, Stormwind sucked too. The only Alliance cap city I liked was Ironforge... never rolled Horde, so I can't comment on those.

Isn't the term "rolled" supposed to be used in situations of coolness and not nerdery?

Cool "rolled" - reference to cruising in cars (I think)
Nerdy "rolled" - reference to rolling dice to determine character stats (not really applicable in WoW, but is a throwback to D&D and other tabletop RPGs) -------------------- |

I take that back, I did roll a Tauren once. But I got to like... level 3.
The rpg aspects of it would be cool, but... nothing changes. Great, you go kill some big baddie in an instance. That would be awesome, except that you can still go kill him 50 times over later on. I dunno, I just didn't get the same sense of immersion and world impact as I would in a non-networked PC RPG or in a pen and paper RPG. Long story short, I got bored. -------------------- |

Can't say I ever played the PnP games but I must say I definitely got bored easily with any mmo (have played 3-4 different ones so far) if my buddies I played with quit or stopped. All the fun of them is in grouping together IMHO.

All the fun of them is in grouping together IMHO. Agreed. I usually had fun when running instances with a group. But I'm not the kind of player who wants to play as part of a group all the time. I like individual play. I like getting involved in the story. I found that lacking in WoW (probably other MMOs too) and so I got bored and quit. *shrugs* I have enough trouble finding time for the games that I *do* want to play... LOL -------------------- |

... as much as I hate to admit it, PnP RPGs are really fun. They can be. They can also suck donkey dick. Same with LARPs. LOVED the good ones, secretly helped kill the bad ones. I'm a bad person sometimes. -------------------- |
