Earth Shock without talent at level 60 does 517-545 damage for a cost of 450 mana.
With the mana cost reduction, it's 427.5. I will be assuming a Shaman has 4,000 Mana at end game (this is just guessing). ES at 450 = 8 Casts of ES in a row (no mana regen included). ES at 427.5= 9 casts of ES in a row (no regen). Doing an average amount of damage of 531, that means at 8 you get 4248 points of damage or 4779 points of damage. This isn't including crits. With the damage increase it will be the same mana costs but I'll adjust for damage. The range with the damage increase is 542.85 to 572.25. This gives an average of 557.55. So, with eight casts you get 4460.4 damage and with nine you get 5017.95 Bleh, I don't want to continue my mathcraft, seriously. My suggestion is getting ALL of the shock bonuses. -------------------- ![]() |

I would be to scared too. You'd get /spit emotes like crazy. It would be like taking over the name "Dogmeat" on these boards after they were reset.

There have been many who have tried doing this on other boards because of how much more cool I am than they are. It would be a fucking honor to have a character named after me on WoW -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

oh this is an old video.
the shield he uses does a 32dmg nature based AE whenever you block. of course for the longest time tho, it was bugged so any +spell dmg gave max benefit. same with thunderfury. cant tell if he has thunderfury pre-nerf or not. |

QUOTE (pebkac @ Mar 5 2006, 02:02 PM) Ok, this may be a really dumb question, but it's been bothering me: There's a talent in the Shaman tree that increases the damage done of their shock spells by 5% and one that reduces the mana cost of those spells by 5%. How much does this increase their mana efficiency? Is it 10% or 25%? mana efficiency = Damage / Mana (damage * 1.05%) / mana = (old mana efficiency) *1.05% damage / (mana * 95%) = (damage / mana) * (1 / 95%) = (old mana efficiency) / 0.95 (damage *1.05% / mana * 95%) = (old mana efficiency) * (1.05% / 95%) = (old mana efficiency) * (1.105%) about 10.5% |
