Im proud of myself, dammit. I just installed new car stereo speakers all by myself. This included removing the window cranks, removing the door panels, making new screw holes in the speaker mounts, installing the speakers, and putting everything back together.

Anybody got anything that they did recently that they are proud of? Not sure if this belongs in the nerdery, but oh well.... I used the internet to help me so thats where the nerd part comes in.

Pick up all the cards

it's from an old dilbert comic. i tried using google to find it, but all i came up with was this (from the dilbert newsletter or something):

QUOTE (DNRC)
LUBBOCK, TX – Self-service gas station attendant Skip Munsey sold his soul to the devil today for a cookie. "I was hungry something fierce," the married father of six explained. "I probably should have thought it over. Maybe I could have eaten something from my lunch pail instead. I had options, but to be honest, I just wasn't thinking.

When asked about the transaction, Satan laughed and explained, "Yeah, sometimes it goes like that, real easy. On other days I have to throw in a bunch of extras. I was surprised he didn't put up more of a fight. The funny part is that I took the cookie from his own lunch pail."

When asked about Mr. Munsey's fate in the afterlife, Satan insisted he hasn't given it much thought. "Lately we've been doing a lot of things involving rodents and lava. I think that might be a good fit."

i mounted the 32" LCD on the wall in my bedroom. nothin too fancy but there was an enormous stud where i was trying to run cable and had to drill a trench out of it to fish the cable. once i patch that up it should look sweet (no visible cables to the TV). i'll post a pic later

pics:
the white cable is an HDMI (waiting for the longer one i ordered so i can run it through the wall), the speaker cable is the one i fished first so i could pull the others through. so i just gotta get that longer HDMI, run it, pull out the speaker cable then patch the wall. i'll prob find some small shelf or entertainment center or something to put the boxes on.

heh, if only it were as easy as photoshop:

let's see...

Luke ROTJ
Luke ANH or ESB (too far away to tell, possibly even Anakin ROTS, but I'm pretty sure it's not)
Mace AOTC\ROTS (same saber)
Vader ANH or ESB (too far away to tell again)

If you don't have the anakin, I definately recommend getting it. It's only $79 at Frys right now, and it's the best weighted I've seen. The ROTS Obi-Wan is nice too, brighter than any other blue saber made so far by a LOT. Only thing I don't like about it is the black paint on the hilt flakes off if you don't baby it.

I have both, looking to get a maul (both blades) and a QuiGon (probably released in 08).

They're coming out with FX-Q's next year, vader and luke, with removable blades.

oh and your tv is fine now that i get a better look at it
