My point being, you hear it as front page news of the day when they die, but when they're actually doing some good over there you don't hear about it at all. It's f'n sick how these assholes operate. They try to see just how much ratings they can squeeze out of each soldier's death. It's a f'n war, people die. Come to reality. Drawing little pictures to try to make something look worse than it is doesn't sway anyone but the impressionable left population. Draw the f'n picture like that for Vietnam and we'll see how reality works.

That was my thought exactly.

Or, draw the murder rate in D.C.

So did anyone watch the 60 Minutes episode last night where they interviewed the FBI interrogator who spent 7 months with Saddam Hussein?

60 Minutes' commercials touted the fact that Saddam admitted not having WMD, but when you watch the interview the story goes much deeper. Saddam said he openly lied about WMD because he wanted to keep a position of power in the Middle East. He continually said he had weapons, even while troops amassed on the borders because he never thought the U.S. would invade. He figured that we would engage in a campaign similar to 1998 (air campaign).

The interview continued on and the interrogator stated that Saddam openly admitted that he would have restarted his weapons program at some point.

What's funny about that is, if someone on here made a statement such as yours on another topic they'd probably be berated or some such.

I find it interesting that a normally "left" source would present such material as it is so detrimental to their precious anti-war movement. If I could find any reputable source that presented an opposing viewpoint, I'd be willing to read it and give it credence.

I also find it interesting that Petraeus has been fairly straightforward on the surge succeeding but that there are still issues and that the Iraqis must work for democracy for themselves.

What does that have to do with it? Can't one person urge others to move towards democracy?

The French didn't have democracy during our revolution, yet they urged us towards it.

Who is this "we" you speak of? You must not live in the United States. Either that or you don't know what a democracy is.

We're a constitutional federal republic, not a democracy.

By definition, we are a Constitutional Republic ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_republic ) while adhering to democratic principles, which aren't well defined. We define our democratic state by our separation of powers.
