For those of you who are religious/spiritual/optimists, please keep Janakae Sargent in your prayers. She's the best friend of my roommate from my freshman year, and I had the pleasure of living with her for a week when she came to visit my roommate.

Police say 48-year-old Irma Padilla was on the Slaton Highway approaching Loop 289 and ran the red light at the intersection of MLK. 20-year-old Janakae Sargent was traveling north approaching the intersection when her vehicle was struck by Padilla's.
