I am going to London in March and was wondering what London Gatwick Airport was like compared to Heathrow. I know that it is south of downtown London but that's about it. The flights are definitely more affordable, so if anyone that has flown into Gatwick can tell me if it's just as busy as Heathrow or as much of a headache (I've had a connecting flight there and it sucked) that'd be great.

i honostly cannot tell a difference between the two airports when I have flown through them. i have been to both many times, and they are both shitholes that are confusing as fuck unless you know what you are doing....so yeah, its relatively the same

and yes, just as busy

i've gone through Gatwick twice and it really sucks having to get a train ticket and going all the way down there. but more of a pain than anything. takes about an hour from king's cross maybe. if you're saving money it's good. i think it's less busy than heathrow, but both are probably a bit similar.

I haven't been to Heathrow, but Gatwick is alright. It's a bit of a pain in the ass because you have to take the train into town, though.

Ok, if the flight to Heathrow is a tad more expensive than Gatwick is it worth it?

The flight to Gatwick right now is $3600 round trip (direct). Heathrow is right at $3800.

depends on if you're in a rush for time.

i'd save the $200 and go with gatwick, because a train ticket from gatwick to london won't be $200.

then again, if i was only gonna be there a couple days i'd wanna have as much time as possible. depends on your needs.
