This is not really news per se, because the experiment was done about 20 years ago, but it is still interesting.

A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

i seriously doubt that hallucinogens and other drugs have the same effect on insects as they do on the human nervous system

the web thing is interesting but doesn't really tell us much

No doubt, the human nervous system is much more complex

I think the moral of the story is: Avoid caffeine. But acid, mescaline, and hash ain't so bad.

Even so,

Imagine a person on acid compared to a person who has downed three red bulls....

wtf, that's all? That's barely higher than a dose of No-Doze (200 mg). I had nearly a gram of caffeine over the course of a couple of hours once.
