I didn't go to the ring ceremony and I didn't get a ring... Just seemed like a waste of money.

i did. it was funny. one guy got an empty box. one guy got a box with a ring that had someone else name in it. i got mine and it was ugly. so i had them remake it. and then there was the *ping ping* of people dropping their rings on the floor.

i got a white gold class ring

but then found out i'm allergic to nickel

so i can't wear it

it sits in it's case. on the occasion that i do want to wear it, i gotta put cream on my finger so i don't break out

my wedding ring is tungsten for that reason

there shouldnt be nickel in white gold...

im allergic to nickel too and i didnt think gold created that reaction... all of my jewelry is sterling silver though so ive never encountered white gold or its reaction

then again maybe its different for different people

depends on how many kts it is. if its only 10 or 18, there will be nickel in it. only 24 kt gold is pure.

ya, my ring isn't 24

some white gold has nickel. depends on how it's made. some use another metal instead of nickel, i forgot what it is though.

sterling silver doesn't irrate me, nor does yellow gold

lol same thing at the ceremony i went to. it's hard to tell which way is up on the box, and the rings kinda slide out of the slot during shipping so half of them fell on the floor right outta the box.

yeah ring ceremony = stupid, boring, pointless

i really like my ring though (14k + diamond chips)

is there any way to get it and avoid the ceremony? because i ordered mine yesterday and i told the lady i was going to be out of town that day, and she suggested that i just go to one of the other ceremonies (damn, who knew?).
