Forrest has one hell of a chin and more heart than anyone in the business. It won't be fireworks, it'll be a nuclear war within the Octagon!

Finally decided to withdraw from the 6/28 Warfare X card in Hutchinson, KS.

I started feeling body-aches and an itchy throat Saturday evening. Woke up Sunday at 4:30 am delirious with fever/shivers, body-aches, and a wicked sore throat. Hoped against hope and tried OTC stuff to kick it...fever peaked near 105 yesterday.
Went to the doc, STREP THROAT............

....gave a shot, wrote a prescription, and recommended I not fight. Fuck.

Well, shit happens.

Seriously though, I feel awful for having to back out. I just hope the promoter won't blacklist me for this...Mick was a cool guy though, so hopefully not. I know my now ex-opponent may think "oh he didn't want to fight me...blah blah" and all that typical shit. I'll probably see him at the event Saturday though, and he'll probably be a nice guy about this. If I feel well enough, I intend to go so as to corner Jess in her MMA debut.

Bleh, rambling about shit that's beyond my control.

I don't really like MMA, but after last night I'm a fan.

Pretty entertaining. I don't really know the rules or a whole lot about the sport, but this is what I took from the fight: Rampage had a much better ground game, and was much bigger and stronger than Griffin. That's why Griffin connected so many punches and kicks. Rampage never really seemed to bother with the boxing aspect, it just looked like he was waiting for Griffin to miss or lose his balance on a downswing so he could take him down and pin him. That's probably why he lost. He didn't seem interested in accumulating points until the final few minutes of the fifth round. Had he actually fought the entire 25 minutes and not relied on the fact he thought he could knock Griffin out by pinning him, he probably would have won pretty easily. Griffin showed a lot of resiliency though. Dude is one tough motherfucker. Did he come from the streets of Boston?

And that second or third fight was pretty intense. The one with all the blood.

Forrest was born in Columbus, Ohio and now trains in Vegas at Xtreme Couture.

Rampage was counter-fighting...looking for the big KO off a right more than likely. His wrestling is great, but he didn't utilize it much. Forrest has great ground skills and showed that last night yet again.

Koscheck vs. Lytle was a bloodbath indeed. I'm surprised the ref didn't stop it, but I'm also glad he didn't at the same time. No fighter likes to lose a fight because of a cut, ESPECIALLY if you can still fight on.

Zach, remember when I was telling you about those typical Affliction wearing roided up assholes who go to bars just to start shit? You laughed and said they were the popped collar douchebags of the MMA community. I don't remember what thread it was.

Anyways, a few weeks back my friend Jeremy got in to it with one of those guys because a cougar he was sitting with gave Jeremy her number. The guy got mad and threatened to kick Jeremy's ass. Ended up telling everyone at the bar about it and getting 30 people as his "back." Funny thing is Jeremy is half his size and stepped up to him, and all the guy would do is talk shit and make threats. I ended up apologizing to the guy even though my friend did nothing wrong, just cause I didn't want shit to get started.

That guy was found dead this morning, face down with a needle sticking out of him. Apparently he got out of the hospital for a bacterial infection and immediately started shooting up HGH and roids and OD'd. I feel bad for everyone who knew him and his family, but I can't say he didn't get what he knew might come to him for doing that shit.

Jackson arrested after police chase

By Kevin Iole and Dave Meltzer, Yahoo! Sports 3 hours, 32 minutes ago

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was arrested and held on $25,000 bail following a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon in Costa Mesa, Calif.

According to Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Dondero, an officer observed the 30-year old Jackson driving with a flat tire on his 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck and talking on his cell phone (which recently became illegal while driving in Calif.) and attempted to pull him over.

Dondero said Jackson, a resident of Irvine, Calif., ignored the officer and continued driving with the officer in pursuit.

Police had received a report of a vehicle involved in a collision on the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa, which struck other vehicles and fled the scene, Dondero said.

The chase continued with the vehicle weaving in and out of traffic, including at one point driving on the wrong side of the road and even on a sidewalk, scaring pedestrians.

Dondero said Jackson hit two cars at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard at 1:13 p.m., but failed to stop. He said a Costa Mesa police officer saw the truck near 17th Street and attempted to pull it over.

Jackson fled and hit at least one more car before the five-minute chase ended with his arrest, the lieutenant said.

The car continued to Newport Beach, where the tire blew out and came off the rim and he was taken into the Orange County Central jail. The fighter was charged with hit-and-run driving, felony evading and reckless driving.

UFC president Dana White flew to Orange County upon learning of the arrest and said he was driving to the county jail to post bail for Jackson.

The story was initially reported by the website TMZ.com, which has photos of Jackson lying face down on the street behind his truck, a 2008 Ford F-350 turbo diesel, as a police officer has his gun drawn and is pointing it at him.

Jackson won the UFC light heavyweight title by knocking out Chuck Liddell at UFC 71 on May 26, 2007. After a successful defense against Dan Henderson on Sept. 5, Jackson lost the belt to Forrest Griffin on a controversial decision at UFC 86 on July 5 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Jackson’s manager/trainer, Juanito Ibarra, did not immediately return phone calls.

Holy shit...guess that loss to Forrest made him snap! =P

Motherfucker...

Well, I lost...1st round rear-naked choke. I had the guy, and I mean HAD the guy standing. But alas, he caught one of my leg kicks, shot in and took me down. He was able to work to mount, landed some good shots, I rolled to my stomach/gave up my back (like a fucking moron...), and then choke. I tapped before going dark. Fucking hell, I keep thinking back and there were so many other things I could've done even when he had me on my back...bleh.

Oh well...I'm taking a couple months off from fighting so as to train like a lunatic bastard for my wrestling/submission skills (which need some focused attention) AND physical conditioning (I need to get stronger). I also think I'm going to start fighting at 155lbs now.
