We stopped executing the mentally disabled about 10 years ago (maybe more). She was put to death at age 16. Had they waited till she was 18 it wouldn't have caused such a stink.

I think that 2 years can make a difference. Are you mature enough for your punishment at 16? That's a tough question.

and the point is that in america you can be sentanced to death as a child for your crime. whether you are killed at 16 or 18 makes no difference its still a sentance for a crime commited as a young adolescent while modern science claims you are still developing

capital punishment for the mentally ill was banned in 1986 but again for the same reasons as mental disability the diagnosis is sketchy and depends highly on if the state is thirsting for blood

I agree with Cathryn here, but probably not on the same level. I wouldnt compare the US to Iran; however, I will say that sentencing someone under the age of 18 to death (even though the sentence wont be carried out until after they come of age) is a sad sad circumstance.

I think it's wonderful. This girl was obviously a mindless slut in need of killing. She probably sucked the boys dick she was in the cab with, hence making her death amicable.
