I was invited to attend a free luncheon Town Hall with Katie Couric... Should I take off work to go?

Depends on how you feel about free lunches and katie couric.

Also, take into account what the consequences would be for taking off work to go there.

id say go
esp if theres a chance you could get to talk to her
shes a pretty damn powerful woman
plus itd be neat to hear what she has to say

but if its going to cause an uproar at work, just have a depressed coworker buy you lunch and listen to what he has to say instead laugh.gif

I went and it was actually pretty interesting... An exec from CBS and Katie Couric basically just talked to about 80 of us about the news, what we wanted, what was wrong with the news, and different ways to receive the news.

Picture of Katie:

Video of Katie that I took: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAOET7sI9Sk

She was really nice. I brought up that I want my news to be facts, not opinions. The point of the news is to allow me to form an opinion. She agreed with me. I went on to talk about how I thought a lot of the news was sensationalism and that I felt they should focus on international news.
