Fear-Mongering Gun Nut Kills 3 Police Officers

QUOTE
PITTSBURGH A gunman wearing a bulletproof vest and "lying in wait" opened fire on officers responding to a domestic disturbance call Saturday, killing three of them and turning a quiet Pittsburgh street into a battlefield, police said.

Police Chief Nate Harper said the motive for the shooting isn't clear, but friends said the gunman recently had been upset about losing his job and feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.

Richard Poplawski, 23, met officers at the doorway and shot two of them in the head immediately, Harper said. An officer who tried to help the two also was killed.
...
Poplawski had feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon," said Edward Perkovic, his best friend.
...
Another longtime friend, Aaron Vire, said Poplawski feared that President Barack Obama was going to take away his rights, though he said he "wasn't violently against Obama."

(not "violently against Obama," just against anyone and everyone else...)

I'm a full 2nd Amendment supporter, but I hear too many people playing the violent fear-mongering game.
And this is where it can lead.

THEY TOOK ERRR JERRRRBS~!!!!
THEY GUNNA TAKE ERRRRR GUURRRRRNNNNNS~!!!!!

Kidnapped US captain freed; snipers kill 3 pirates
AP

NAIROBI, Kenya Navy snipers on the fantail of a destroyer cut down three Somali pirates in a lifeboat and rescued an American sea captain in a surprise nighttime assault in choppy seas Easter Sunday, ending a five-day standoff between a team of rogue gunmen and the world's most powerful military.

It was a stunning ending to an Indian Ocean odyssey that began when 53-year-old freighter Capt. Richard Phillips was taken hostage Wednesday by pirates who tried to hijack the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama. The Vermont native was held on a tiny lifeboat that began drifting precariously toward Somalia's anarchic, gun-plagued shores.

The operation, personally approved by President Barack Obama, quashed fears the saga could drag on for months and marked a victory for the U.S., which for days seemed powerless to resolve the crisis despite massing helicopter-equipped warships at the scene.

One of the pirates pointed an AK-47 at the back of Phillips, who was tied up and in "imminent danger" of being killed when the commander of the nearby USS Bainbridge made the split-second decision to order his men to shoot, Vice Adm. Bill Gortney said. The lifeboat was being towed by the Bainbridge at the time, he said.

A fourth pirate was in discussions with naval authorities about Phillips' fate when the rescue took place. He is in U.S. custody and could face could face life in a U.S. prison.

TABC dismisses alcohol protests; permit process resumes

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - TABC officials have dissmissed the alcohol protests that have delayed permits in Lubbock.

In a press release issued this afternoon, TABC says that any protests filed in Texas based solely on incorrect wet/dry certification will be dismissed.

The TABC has received several protests regarding applications for new licenses and permits for alcohol in Lubbock County.

TABC Administrator Alan Steen has determined that using the protest process to determine local wet/dry status is beyond the agency's authority.

The basis for these protests is the allegation that the applications were incorrectly certified as being wet for the sale of alcoholic beverages.

By policy and law, before TABC processes a license or permit application, the city and county must certify the application as being at a location that is wet for that type of permit. TABC's role is not to determine whether a location is wet or dry.

The agency's protest policy will be revised to reflect this decision so that future protests may be dismissed in a timely manner.

TABC expects to begin issuing licenses and permits within days for authorized applicants and locations.

FINALLY

LOL

Well, those old dried up cunts can just live with the fact that the vast majority of county voters chose logic and freedom over anti-capitalistic monopolies and legislated morality.
