Travis Barker is an AMAZING drummer... whether or not Blink182 is a good band. I put him up there as one of the great drummers of our day.

I see you know little next to nothing about Travis Barker. Blink 182 is only a small portion of his music career.
+44 is his current group. Mark Hoppus (another former Blink182 member) is also in that band. The night of the crash, he was separated from his group and played alongside DJ AM at a free concert in South Carolina. Other side project bands during and post Blink182 include Box Car Racer, Transplants, and Expensive Taste. Before Blink182, he was drummer for The Suicide Machines and more notably The Aquabats. In fact, Barker wasn't even the original drummer of Blink182. He also worked alongside P.Diddy (or whatever he is called these days) and Dave Navarro (former Jane's Addiction guitarist) for a rather interesting song that was actually really good a few years back. That's only the tip of the iceberg. So yeah, the man is a present day rock drumming legend. |

Are you fucking retarded? Seriously, it doesn't matter what kind of music you like. The man knows his drums. He is a huge part of the music industry. I put him in the top 5 drummers in the past 10-15 years. Hell, he's been playing drums since he was 4 years old.

I did see you say tip of the iceberg. So what's the rest of the iceberg? I'm not saying the guy sucks or isn't a good drummer, I was just curious who the guy is, and "rock drumming legend" are some pretty strong words for only including those two tidbits.

The dude is on Wikipedia. Look it up. I shouldn't have to type everything when one can utilize a search engine and read it for themselves.

I'm not looking for the dude's biography, I'm asking you why you think he should be considered a legend.

You know how Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters singer, Nirvana drummer) is asked to come in and lay down the drums for a lot of bands (Queens of the Stone Age, Tenacious D, etc.), well, Travis Barker does the same thing, except that he does it for a wider array of music... everything from punk to hip hop to alternative to R&B to pop. In fact, he played the drums for every single performance during the 2008 MTV VMA's. Barker has been in several bands, guest appeared on several albums, laid down the tracks for several full albums of bands he is not a member of. Yeah, he is a "pop" scene artist, but he also does a lot of underground music. I think that's why many people don't think he is as great as he is... because he was the member of a pop punk band. I don't know if any of you know who the Aquabats are, but they were a really good band in the 90's. He's been around a long time, well before Blink182.
And yeah, a little bit of reading and you could have gathered enough info to know why all on your own. |

Well Jessica, when I first joined in the conversation I did mention that yes, I know I can google it, but that kinda defeats having a conversation so I thought I'd just ask. Fuckin' A girl.

Well, I had listed a bunch of stuff already in this thread, but that wasn't good enough for you so I said look it up. *shrug*

travis barker's wife wasn't even really all that hot I didn't think.
It's not like I wouldn't have stuck my dick inside of her pussy or came all over her face, it's just that there were other Playmates that I would have rather had my penis inside of. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I think maybe she used to be pretty. I don't know. She was pretty ugly when her and Barker were together.
