ok for real can we use some common sense about our avatars? people who browse at work are warned not to view the lrar thread because nsfw stuff is safe in there. but what good does that restriction do if nsfw avatars are allowed in sfw threads?

i figured this would be common sense but apparently...

I dont see how this is such a hard concept to understand. GO TO MY CONTROLS AT THE TOP RIGHT OF YOUR PAGE (its next to the area that says how many new messages you have), SCROLL DOWN TO BOARD SETTINGS, CHANGE THE FIRST THREE OPTIONS TO "NO" INSTEAD OF "YES". Once this is done, you can even browse lrar at work. Im here at work right now and everything is fine and dandy.

We already discussed Dogmeat's avatar if that's what you're complaining about. We decided that it's too tiny for someone to see as being NSFW unless they're right up in your face staring at your monitor.

i dont see why its such a hard concept to be decent.

i browse at work and i usually dont log in if im just back and forth between other things and this. i dont like leaving my password on a public computer and i dont think i should have to log on and mess with all these settings just to get a bit of courtesy. enough people have complained about other peoples avatars in the past, so obviously its an issue. thats the whole reason we defined lrar as view at your own risk, yet asked that people refrain from that kind of stuff in the other threads.

I dont see any undecent avatars. I couldnt even tell what Dogmeat's was until someone else pointed it out. If it was something like Brandon's past ones, I would understand. I browse A LOT at work and I am professional enough to know that some douchebag could come into a thread that isnt in lrar and spam it with bad stuff that isnt work safe; therefore, I do the responsible thing and change the board settings. The settings are saved until you change them. Even if you logout and log back in, the settings stay the same, I believe.

the simple answer is to just not look at this at work, i agree with that.

My thing is that if this place is going to be ruled with an iron fist (which could be a lot of fun to watch), then I suggest we be consistent. But the mod's made their decision so hey, cartoonudity

i've never worked a job where jacking around on the internet is allowed. i don't know where you people are getting the time to slack off at work and surf the net. if its during breaks, you seriously need to find something better to do with your time than immediately get on techsans. just wait till after you get home at 5 and surf to your hearts content, problem solved.

nothing bothers me more than people who ask ME to change the way i act because it might get YOU in trouble. if you're worrying about getting in trouble, the problem lies with that you're doing, not what others are doing.

the only reason i follow the rules is because i don't want to be a douche and give the mods additional unneeded work. but never will i change the way i post because some moron is trying to avoid getting fired. sorry.

It's not just work. Sometimes I surf at school, like if I go to the computer lab between classes or something, and seeing NSFW stuff there is annoying too.

BUT... you're right that the problem would be solved if people fixed their surfing habits. Like Jessica suggested, it's easy to change your account settings. It only takes a few seconds to log in and log back out again if you're at a public computer.

i agree with blue. we need to be consistent. we cant get mad at brandon because the boobs are there if no one says anything to dogmeat about the mouse banging some chick. (the eeek eeek harder part doesnt help either.)

and about the work thing, thats another issue. i get paid to answer phones when people call and make orders when people need something. but out of 8 hours a day, theres bound to be a few minutes here and there when one of my coworkers answers the only call or there arent any. not my fault that i have downtime. i have my own desk with a computer and my boss is perfectly aware and okay that we check email or do other things as long as there arent customers who need help.
