Techsans.net - Texas Tech Forums and Message Board _ Health, Fitness, & Food _ I think i've decided weight lifting means an early death

the more muscle you build, the harder your heart obviously has to work to pump blood to your muscles.

I think that I should lose weight NOW as opposed to remaining as heavy as I am, and just deal with the fact that I will never be the strongest guy in the gym...

Especially if you consider the fact that being the strongest guy in the gym is fucking pointless, because you can't even kick somone's ass who weighs 60 pounds less than you that knows how to fight.

so, I'm gonna start like doing plyometric stuff to get my heart in shape and screw the weight lifting crap so maybe I'll live longer.

sound like a plan? smile.gif

Haha, well....I say that you should take a little from column A and a little from column B. Do both, but I'd say for you right now just do endurance lifting and cardio/plyometric exercises. Lean & tone yourself up.

I myself am about to start a 6-8 week muscle-building/weight-gaining regimen, and then follow that up with a 2-4 week leaning/endurance phase.

I dunno that there is any truth to the notion that your heart is working harder by having more muscle... did you research this? Would be interesting to know for sure.

do bikram yoga. seriously. you sweat your ass off, and the girls are cute.
maybe in addition to weights.

Any crossfit gym nearby?
Or do you have the basic equipment to do those type of circuits?

i don't think i could do yoga, the embarrassment of ripping a fart in an awkward position, while everyone is being absolutely quiet and forced to breath deeply....
