I started to get teary eyed until I realized he was in brokeback mountain
Brokeback Mountain was actually a really good movie. I think his shining moment was really in Monster's Ball, though. My god what an amazing film, and he played his role flawlessly

I don't care how good of a movie people think it was, it's about two gay cowboys

Fuckmuffin. That word and muffintop are the two coolest things I've ever seen on this place. What would happen if a fuckmuffin fucked a chick with a muffintop? That's a lot of muffins. A lot of motherfuffin muffuckins.

i hate to disagree with you there....I've both read the short story, and own the DVD....I don't think the two were gay at all, but I think that they found a connection, a love for each other if you will. The characters didn't have a track record of being gay, and it was just a single relationship that was same-sex.
I am gay, because all of the relationships I have ever sought were between myself and another man.....however I think that if you were to have a relationship with another man one time in your life, it wouldn't necessarily make you gay.

And I think Brokeback served a good stepping stone for gay cinema...perhaps if it weren't for its popularity, we wouldn't have Gus Van Sant making "Milk."

kind of like how if you had a relationship with a small boy one time in your life, it wouldnt necessarily make you a pedophile?!?!

LOL, no, thats just fucked up.

EDIT: and pedophilia isn't sexually-based (it may involve sex), but more about the rush of having power over someone else. And pedophiles RARELY ever just do it once...they are repeat offenders.

I haven't read the story, but from the movie I got the impression that Ennis was bi, whereas Jack was gay (married mainly to keep up appearances). But you are right that "two gay cowboys" is an over-simplification.
